Ubisoft is also showing off the new Rayman Legends for Nintendo’s Wii U at E3. The game, which is a direct sequel to Rayman Origins, looks to deliver the same enjoyable platforming gameplay and then some.
The new direction of the Rayman series provides some of the best 2D platforming ever witnessed in the gaming industry. Up to 4 players can team up and venture through gorgeous environments while competing to collects the most amount of lums and reach the finish in time. It is a simple concept but it is also a ton of fun. The Wii U version of the sequel will introduce some new gameplay ideas using the Wii U Gamepad such as allowing another player spawn and interact with the environment in order to help (or inhibit) the other players progress.
On a personal note, if you are one of the millions who ignored Rayman Origins when it was released, on any platform, you are truly missing out. This is arguably one of the most under-appreciated games of the current generation of consoles. Let’s not let this happen again when Rayman Legends launches.
