Roccat Power Grid takes home "Best Choice" at Computex
One little piece of information that most forget during this week is that, while E3 is the big show, Computex has been going on in Taipei. Among those in attendance were ROCCAT Studios, who took home the "Best Choice" aware for the Power-Grid, a product I have mentioned a couple of times in past articles. The device allows a gamer to take a smartphone and control games and computers from it. It's a very simple, intuitive design that I look very forward to trying out. Be sure to keep on the look out for more information on the Power-Grid.
ROCCAT Power-Grid wins “Best Choice” Award at Computex 2012
Hamburg, 5 June 2012 - German gaming peripherals manufacturer, ROCCAT Studios, has been honored with the Best Choice award in the "Computer and System" category at this year's Computex in Taipei for the ROCCAT Power-Grid app.
Power-Grid is a new technology that – for the first time in the history of PC gaming – lets players control their games and computer with their smartphone. The exclusive app represents a breakthrough in PC gaming control, makes expensive touch-display gaming devices obsolete, works with every PC, and is free to get started.
The award jury described Power-Grid as “unique, impressive and innovative", saluting its “high technical invention” and calling it a “unique business opportunity.”
Says Computex officials, "The user interface is not only imaginative, but also looks high quality. The software supports a variety of social media sites, which significantly increases the convenience for gamers."
The Best Choice award focuses on “functionality, innovation and marketing potential as the main judging guidelines”, according to Computex officials.
Select media will be able to see the latest version of the Power-Grid app at E3 in Los Angeles and at Computex in Taipei on June 5. The initial version is compatible with all Apple iPhone models running the latest version of IOS, as well as with the iPod Touch. ROCCAT will launch Power-Grid for Android smartphones at gamescom 2012 in Cologne, Germany, beginning August 15. In addition to a compatible smartphone, Power-Grid requires a PC with Wi-Fi capability.
