It's not the ending DLC that everyone is hoping for yet, but
Mass Effect 3's second batch of major DLC has been announced nonetheless. The
Rebellion DLC pack will be a free (Yeah, that right, FREE, *************!!) multiplayer add-on containing new character races, classes, maps, and weapons.
Specifically, the new characters and classes are
Vorcha Soldier (Bloodlust ability),
Vorcha Sentinel (Flamer skill),
Male Quarian Engineer (Arc Grenade),
Male Quarian Infiltrator (Tactical Scan ability),
Ex-Cerberus Vanguard (Lash attack), and
Ex-Cerberus Adept (Smash and Singularity).
New maps include
Firebase Jade which is surrounded by waterfalls and an ancient salarian reservoir, and
Firebase Goddess which is set in the heart of a Thessian metropolis.
New weapons are the
Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle (fully automatic Mattock variant), the
Reegar Carbine Shotgun (think arc pistol, but in shotgun form and, in a bit of fan service, named after the star of slash fiction everywhere, Kal'Reegar and his family), and finally the
Krysae Sniper Rifle (turian anti-material rifle modified to hit reapers especially hard - comes complete with ammo that is both armor piercing AND explosive).
If you purchased a new copy of
Mass Effect 3, and have activated your online pass the Rebellion DLC pack is free, and will be available for download on the PC, PSN, and XBL on Tuesday, May 29th.
