Here's the second developer diary for
XCOM: Enemy Unknown that has Firaxis Art Director Greg Foetsch answering questions about how they came up with the artistic direction for the game. They cover a lot of the basics including character design (the XCOM soldiers look like GI Joe figures) and a few other fun little things.
As an old school XCOM fan I'm already looking forward to seeing this game at E3 as I really want to see how the action in the game flows.
