In what is becoming a regular occurrence for Xbox 360-centric gamers, it was announced today that
Max Payne 3 would ship on
two discs for Microsoft's mean machine. Rockstar especially seems more open to using multiple discs for their Xbox games (
Max Payne 3 will represent their second multi-disc release in a year). This probably means that
GTA V will be on seven discs - that's if it comes out before we reach the technological singularity rendering all physical media irrelevant.
For
Max Payne 3, this means that the first half of the single-player campaign will be on disc one while the second half and all the multiplayer will be on disc two.
And I really hope by "second half" they mean "an amount of time roughly equal to the single-player content on disc one" and not "the last five minutes of the game and its super-long credits*" like we got with disc 2 of
The Witcher 2.
