In a new behind-the-scenes video for upcoming sandbox action game
Sleeping Dogs, the developers at
United Front Games sit down to discuss their inspiration and research processes for crafting virtual Hong Kong. I was quite impressed when having to look closer in the video to tell if it was in-game footage or captured video of real Hong Kong. Later in the video, we get further details about the game including various activities that will be available for explorers. Gamers will be able to roam the city freely, participate in mini-games, compete in races, and shop for new clothes and such. The game's version of Hong Kong is split into four distinct areas that each capture the essences of the actual city.
It's hard to believe that this game was originally canceled by
Activision and then thankfully saved by
Square Enix. Now, we just have to wait for when
Sleeping Dogs becomes available this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.
