It's no secret that game journalists are showered with piles of gifts and invited to the most exclusive and hip parties that preview some of the year's hottest games. Square Enix and IO Interactive recently held a press event in London for the upcoming Hitman: Absolution, which marks a major revival of the series in terms of gameplay and visuals. The newest trailer features footage from the press event with Game Director Tore Blystad and Gameplay Director Christian Elverdam discussing the game's various new features. We learn some details about the in-house built Glacier2 engine that can be contributed for the significant upgrade in visuals, in addition to the redesigned gameplay mechanics. They also discuss the balance between presenting an engaging narrative, while also providing gamers with freedom in how they accomplish missions.
Also, the game's box art has been recently unveiled with its sleek and modern visual design. The cover's bold appearance matches the new direction of the latest installment. I only wish that the box art was sitting next to me with an actual game inside it's case.Hitman: Absolution will be available in 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.
