There's no way to tell who really had a merry Christmas this year and who didn't; however, I do know someone that did: Roxio, the developers of casual mega-hit, Angry Birds. 6.5 million people downloaded Angry Birds on December 25. Apparently almost everyone in THE ENTIRE ******* WORLD that got a smartphone for Christmas (there were 6.8 million smartphone activations that day as well) downloaded Angry Birds (and I admit that I was one of those people, albeit for an iPod Touch rather than a smartphone). Can any game claim such an adoption rate? Granted, Angry Birds is cheap, or even free, and easy to obtain, but still, that's pretty impressive.
