No, you read that right.  Two million people have been taken out by Voliton's deadly IED.  However, that's not all.  THQ has also said that a total of 5.8 billion citizens of Steelport have met their demise, and players have spend a cumulative two years streaking the streets of Steelport.  Interesting to know.  Read on for a few more crazy stats for Saints Row: The Third, plus what THQ is doing to celebrate this...uh...milestone, I guess?

THQ and Volition, Inc. are proud to announce today that 2 million people have been bludgeoned to death by Volition’s deadly IED (Inspirational Erotic Device), the purple Penetrator that has come to symbolize the strap-it-on attitude of Saints Row®: The ThirdTM.

In total, 5.8 billion citizens of Steelport have met their demise at the hands of gamers around the globe while playing Saints Row®: The ThirdTM. That’s 19 times the population of the United States, roughly 85 percent of the population of the world, and it’s just the beginning.

Amidst the mayhem, players have spent a cumulative two years in their birthday suits streaking the streets of Steelport, while in Whored Mode, 44 million pimps, gimps and prostitutes have been dispatched, roughly twice the population of Texas. Finally, 650 hot dog mascots have been overcooked to death by players using a flamethrower. Delicious.
