2K Games has released a new trailer for the recently missing in action
Spec Ops: The Line that is described as a modern military shooter that incorporates enthralling combat and a thought-provoking narrative. The latest trailer only offers us cryptic messages in the form of billboard videos with a backdrop of Dubai in ruins. The trailer lacks any evidence to describe the game as a military shooter, but instead more of a mysterious end of the world thriller. Players will be placed in the role of Delta Force soldier Captain Walker, who is tasked with rescuing a squad of soldiers from the sandstorm remains of Dubai. For further details on the game,
read our impressions from the game at E3.
Spec Ops: The Line will be available in spring 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

“With all of its grandeur and opulence, Dubai provides the perfect backdrop to play out Spec Ops: The Line’s deep and complex narrative. This bold endeavor harnesses 2K’s pedigree of creating fascinating stories, settings and worlds to create an aggressive narrative and environment that you won’t find in other games on the market,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Wartime narratives evoke emotion like few things else in our culture. Players will fight through this hostile environment in Spec Ops: The Line, creating a raw and unique video game experience.”
In Spec Ops: The Line players will assume the role of Captain Walker, a U.S. Delta Force soldier on a harrowing rescue mission to save the damned 33rd squad of the U.S. Infantry. Set against the backdrop of a sandstorm-ravaged Dubai, Spec Ops: The Line is 2K’s first foray into the modern military genre, combining its trademark narrative depth with compelling action to move players beyond the simple conflicts of good-versus-bad.
Spec Ops: The Line is not yet rated by the ESRB. For more information please visit
