I don’t think anyone will disagree that
Arkham City is a success.
In the gaming industry, the benchmark of 1 million copies sold seems to be the golden plateau that all games strive for during their lifespan. Some games do more, most do less. In the case of Batman: Arkham City, the 1 million marker was simply a stepping stone in the first week of sales.
Warner Bros. has announced that the latest installment in Rocksteady’s Batman series has officialy sold more than 4.6 million units around the world during its first week of release. The game has been rocking more than just the sales charts as both the 360 and PS3 versions currently sit amongst the highest rated games in history on Metacritic as well.
Remember, this is just the first week, we have the entire Holiday season ahead of us. There is also another version set to launch next month for PC players around the world which will undoubtedly give the sales numbers another boost. Congrats to Rocksteady and Warner Bros.
Cyril will be bringing you our review of the title later this week, so stay tuned. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel... or something like that.
