2K Sports jumping into the dev diary role with NBA 2K12

More On: NBA 2K12
With the NBA in full-on lockout mode, it's comforting to know that fans of professional basketball will at least get their fix on their consoles.  Building upon that, 2K Sports has created a developer diary for NBA 2K12, the latest post of which discusses the new mechanic regarding post-engaging, basically improving the game on the low blocks and pleasing those fans who prefer their game in the paint instead of bombing away from three point.  With the lockout basically keeping fans from the game, you need to get your fix wherever you can.

We wanted to let you know about the latest developer insight for NBA 2K12 by Zach Timmerman, Gameplay Producer, which describes several improvements made to post play in this year’s title. This insight details the decision to map the “post engage” mechanic to the Y-button, while highlighting many different moves that a player can perform while in the post, including drives, spins, faceups and more. Classic post moves like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Sky Hook and Hakeem Olajuwon’s Dream Shake can be easily mastered in NBA 2K12. This latest post also includes descriptions of post shots and ways to best defend against all of these new offensive moves.
