id Software's
Rage is going to be a huge game and a few weeks ago, some 360 owners surely suffered sticker-shock at the prospect of a
21 or 22gb install to play it the way it's meant to be played. Well today, id Software elaborated a little, and those balking at
Rage because of its huge install size should pay extra attention. Apparently, you don't need to install all three discs to get the benefits that come with installing the game. In fact, when you get to disc two, you can uninstall disc one, and you don't have to install disc three at all because it's reserved for
Rage's multiplayer component.
So that's good news, but anyone who has played one of the multi-disk epics that are becoming more and more common on the Xbox 360 should be thinking, "well duh." I'm sure many gamers are already taking such steps to limit the voracious HDD space-appetite that multi-disc games have.
Rage comes out this October.
