German developer/publisher Kalypso Media has announced today that they are working on a new dark RPG called The Dark Eye - Demonicon. Set for release in 2012 on next-gen consoles and PC, The Dark Eye - Demonicon takes place in an demon-filled region called The Shadow Lands, Aventuria. It tells the story of two lovers in a world of cruelty and depravity who must find their path through danger and temptation.

Kalypso Reveals First Screenshots for "The Dark Eye – Demonicon"
Ridgewood, NJ, August 12, 2011 - Kalypso Media today released the first screenshots from The Dark Eye – Demonicon, the highly anticipated role -playing title currently in development by Kalypso’s Noumena Studios in Berlin. The Dark Eye – Demonicon takes place in The Shadow Lands, Aventuria, a location from the ‘Dark Eye’ universe which portrays a dark fantasy setting where demons and the undead roam free. This first selection of screenshots shows off some of the foreboding locations, mysterious characters and evil demons featured in the game. The Dark Eye – Demonicon is scheduled for release in 2012 for Windows PC and next –generation consoles.
The Dark Eye - Demonicon tells the tragic love story of two extraordinary people who become the pawns of sinister forces in a world full of cruelty and depravity. In this world, their mutual affection is both a blessing and curse. Both are constantly threatened by mortal danger and demonic temptation and must find their way through their tortured lives by facing serious moral decisions. Their common destiny will determine the fate of the entire continent and will be decided by the choices they make.
A playable battle demo featuring Cairon, the main character, will be presented on the Kalypso Media stand at Gamescom - Hall 6, Stand A51
