EA Sports has been pretty busy in the last week, and with the latest announcement regarding Madden 12, you can tell that they are being productive.  The latest piece of information to come out regarding the NFL endorsed title regards to online communities.  There was early speculation as to what this exactly meant, but once some screenshots were released, it seems to be a fully customizable interaction center, complete with the ability to hold your own rankings.  Gamers who want to have specific sets of rules for their online play can create these and then invite anyone they wish to participate.  So whether you are keeping it in the family for your competition or inviting your work buddies in for some competition, it seems that this feature caters to most everyone.
Today, Madden NFL 12 announced its latest feature reveal, Online Communities, which provides an all-new way for Madden NFL gamers to meet and play. Users can create and join Communities of up to 2,000 like-minded players, competing on their own leaderboards based on customized game styles with more than 50 variables including: game length, gameplay sliders, game speed, penalties and more. Gamers will also be able to play head-to-head games within their community or team up with fellow members to play ranked Team Play against other communities. Users can join up to fivecommunities at once to meet varying play styles.

Online Communities is the last feature reveal before Madden NFL 12 ships on August 30. For comprehensive information, including blogs from the developers detailing this latest feature, videos and screens, please visit the Online Communities Playbook on the Madden NFL website.
