What if PixelJunk Shooter had been made 20 years ago? Things might be drastically different than the game(s) that we know (and love) today... it might look something like PixelJunk Sidescroller.
PixelJunk Sidescroller is the next title in development from the fantastic development team(s) at Q Games. As you will learn in the short video interview below, taken by the Official PlayStation Blog at E3, the game evolved out of an urge to return to the roots of the shooter genre following the development of PixelJunk Shooter 2. The game was shown off at the Sony booth at E3 and looks absolutely fantastic.
The game has been designed to mimic the experience of shooter games from the past. It will features graphics and image filters that will replicate the look and feel of a classic CRT monitor. Everything that you would expect in a classic shooter is here such as environmental interaction, upgrade-able weapons, and even a new and improved checkpoint system to make dealing with the increased difficulty of the game a little more manageable. The game is due out later this summer, check it out:
