Atlus presents us today with a new (English) trailer and matching screenshots of the upcoming action-adventure/puzzle game,
Catherine. If you're a fan of clever gameplay and in depth storylines, Catherine is one game I would (and am doing so
personally) keep my eye on.
The new trailer focuses on the two girls protagonist Vincent is trying to juggle. One the one hand, he has his girlfriend of 5 years who is slightly COMPLETELY obsessed with the idea of settling down for marriage and a family. On the other hand, Vincent meets a 20 something hottie complete with a lack of interest in a tied down relationship. Although I don't condone his behavior, you still certainly have to feel bad for the drama that Vincent has created for himself as seen in the trailer and screens below. No wonder Vincent is always sporting the mouth-agape look.
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- JUNE 21, 2011 -- ATLUS today released a new trailer (in addition to a new batch of screenshots) focused on the two women at the heart of the upcoming action-adventure/puzzle game Catherine, coming July 26, 2011 for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (PS3™) and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
The new video highlights the two opposing forces of the love triangle central to the game's unprecedented story. Vincent, the protagonist, wants nothing more than for things to stay as they are: simple and manageable. Katherine, his girlfriend of five years, wants more--marriage, a family--the whole nine yards. Catherine, someone Vincent meets just as the game begins, is, by design, the perfect destabilizing element. She surprises Vincent with her shared philosophy on relationships while at the same time being irresistibly beautiful. One represents the familiar; stable and dependable. The other represents the thrill and danger of the unknown. Do you know which you prefer? Watch the trailer to find out!
In other related news, the game recently turned heads and garnered awards at the 2011 E3 Expo in Los Angeles, Calfornia this month. Winner of multiple awards, including "Most Valuable Game" from Official XBOX Magazine, the title's fresh mix of genres and bold subject matter gained it attention and acclaim.
Catherine is currently scheduled to release on July 26, 2011 for PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 system with an MSRP of $59.99 for the standard edition and $79.99 for the limited-run "Love Is Over" Deluxe Edition (available at participating retailers, while supplies last). Fans are encouraged to pre-order at participating retailers to receive the Catherine Sound Disc & Art Book, a free extra available to customers who reserve either the standard or deluxe edition of the game for either platform.
Fans are invited to visit the full official website (http://www.catherinethegame.com), which features a wealth of screenshots, video, detailed game information, and much more. Moreover, visitors can return every day to send and receive texts with Catherine using the site's Cellphone feature, a nod to the one that appears in the game, potentially getting a response from her with secret artwork!
