Ridge Racer NGP
Namco has announced that the Ridge Racer series is headed for Sony’s new handheld. Unfortunately, the announcement wasn’t made audibly by Kaz Hirai so we won’t have any new sound clips to ridicule for the next 6 months.
Ridge Racer NGP (working title) was announced with little to no details aside from the existence of the project. Based on the standards that Namco has set with their other Vita announcements, I think that it is safe to assume that the title will take full advantage of all of the PlayStation Vita’s capabilities including touch controls and use of the system’s gyroscope. There were two concept art pieces released to promote the game, showing one of the futuristic car designs that is being considered, which you can find below...
