CD Projekt RED, a developer dedicated to character- and story-driven non-linear RPGs, is continuing to show and tell gamers around the world what they’ll see and experience in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Released earlier this week, the game has already drawn very positive reactions from players and reviewers alike.
To highlight one of The Witcher 2’s primary strengths, the studio has unveiled a new set of four videos. Each focuses on a significant, distinctive, memorable character. Vernon Roche leads the Blue Stripes, the kingdom of Temeria’s elite special forces. Not just a formidable warrior, he is also a master of intrigue, intelligence and interrogation. Triss Merigold, who recently graced the cover of Playboy in Poland, is a talented sorceress. She is unconditionally loyal to the protagonist, Geralt, with whom she shares an intriguing bond somewhere between friendship and love.
The stocky dwarf Zoltan Chivay is another completely trusted and faithful comrade. He and the monster slayer have a long history of fighting together – and also of testing each other’s ability to imbibe. Neither is close with Iorweth; indeed, few are. Depending on one’s point of view, the crafty, elusive elf is either a valiant freedom fighter for his oppressed race or merely a reprehensible, self-serving bandit.
CD Projekt RED would also like to advise gamers that they can expect the first patch to be available next week. It will improve the player’s ability to change the keyboard map and to invert the mouse as well as implementing assorted other fixes.
