If you happen to pick up
FIFA Soccer 12 for the Nintendo 3DS, you may want to begin a workout regiment for your fingers. EA Sports announced today that the new touch screen controls will change the way you experience FIFA gameplay forever. Along with the new touch controls,
FIFA Soccer 12 will also give player access to over 500 officially licensed clubs, eight game modes, not to mention the first ever foray into 3D soccer. In fact, it is the largest feature set ever developed by EA Sports for a hand-held soccer game.
The all-new optional touch screen controls will allow players to enjoy precision shooting by picking spots from the player's viewpoint with the lower touch screen then pounding the shot home with pinpoint accuracy. You'll be able to curve the ball around or even power it over the defense from anywhere on the pitch.
You'll also be able to re-create yourself in the first-ever 3D street soccer mode. The Be A Pro feature will allow players to take their customized player from the streets to the stadium of their favorite club. The environment will come alive through a lower camera angle and curved pitch to maximize 3D planes and allowing player to experience an unprecedented depth of field.
Other features include authentic 11 v 11 gameplay, head-to-head online matches, Tournament Mode with over 50 real-world tournaments, a full career mode, a training mode, and 8 different camera angles to view the pitch.
FIFA Soccer 12 is set for release this fall for the Nintendo 3DS, and has not yet received a rating.
