Capcom reveals the story for Dragon’s Dogma

Following the Captivate 2011 reveal of Dragon’s Dogma, Capcom has finally given gamers a glimpse into the background story of the upcoming game. The tale begins in the fishing village of Cassadis home of your character. When the town is attacked by a dragon, in the midst of the complete chaos that ensues, you find yourself cornered by the ferocious beast. As you prepare to meet your end, the dragon tells you that “You are the chosen one”, and then proceeds to take your heart, leaving you dead.

In this case, death is not eternal as your spirit is revived in the form of a kakusha, or enlightened one. Your new chance at life is driven by a quest to find and defeat that dragon that stole your Earthly heart. Along the way, you will encounter a wide variety of characters who will aid you in your quest, including:

• Kina- a childhood friend who is always concerned with your well-being
• Adaro- the head of Cassadis Village and a father figure to your character
• King Edmon- a renowned hero who once slayed a dragon who is preparing his armies with the recent appearance of new dragons
• Eleanor- King Edmon’s third wife, who doesn’t exactly care for her life of confinement within the King’s castle
