NIS America is has announced that the official release date for their new 3DS title, Cave Story 3D, is August 9, 2011 in North America and roughly a month later in September for Europe.
Cave Story 3D is a side scrolling action adventure game that is inspired by the classic 2D original. It takes proven 2D action and updates it with the addition of ANOTHER WHOLE DIMENSION that takes the strong exploration aspects to a whole new level.
In the game, you wake up in a cave with no memory of who you are, where you came from or how you got there. All you know is that you must help the adorable rabbit-like creatures fight off an evil doctor.
The world of Mimiga is yours to explore via a combination high-speed shooting with a heavy emphasis on platforming, exploration, puzzle solving, and a deep storyline starting on August 9th.
