Are you ready to assassinate some kings? I hope so, because CD Projekt Red has announced that its new RPG,
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has gone gold, and that both the Premium Edition and the Collector's Edition have gone into production. The game is on track for its scheduled May 17 release date, then (hopefully) to a PC near you so that you can play it.
Also released today by CD Projekt Red are two new videos that highlight important elements of the game. There is a combat overview that shows off
The Witcher 2's new skill development paths - swordsmanship, magic, and alchemy. The video also discusses player choice, finishing moves, action chains, and how to properly exploit enemies for maximum damage.
The second video is all about showcasing the game's impressive visual environments built with CD Projekt Red's own REDengine to take advantage of the latest advances in PC graphics tech and to support their style of non-linear storytelling.
Those videos can be seen

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is the eagerly awaited sequel to the award-winning, million-selling RPG that captured the imaginations of discerning players everywhere. It also features a new, brutal combat system that uniquely combines tactical elements with dynamic action. The proprietary REDengine, designed and built in-house to support the specific demands imposed by our complex, branching style of open-ended storytelling, also takes full advantage of the latest advances in graphical technology.
