Grand Funk Railroad and Joy Division join the Rock Band DLC ranks

Harmonix is debuting a couple of new artists (and adding to one’s catalog) next week for Rock Band DLC and they should be very familiar. The J. Geils Band (“Freeze-Frame” ) and Joy Division (“Love Will Tear Us Apart”) will each have a single and Grand Funk Railroad will have two very recognizable songs available when the DLC hits on April 5th. Thanks Harmonix, as I now have another reason to drop some points to add to my Rock Band DLC collection. Pricing will be the usual, with $1.99/160 MS Pts/200 Wii Pts per track $0.99/80 MS Pts/100 Wii Pts for Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade on either “We’re an American Band” or “Freeze-Frame”. Geils Band and Joy Division and two songs from Grand Funk Railroad will be available beginning April 5 in theRock Band 3 Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

Grand Funk Railroad, the American classic rock band that reached stardom in the 70s, will make their debut in Rock Band next week with two of their most popular hits – the No. 1 hit single, “We’re an American Band, “ as well as “The Loco-Motion.”

New Wave English rockers Joy Division will make their debut next week as well, with a song sure to make any emotional keyboardist happy – “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”

Boston rockers J. Geils Band will add to their Rock Band catalog with their piano-heavy classic “Freeze-Frame.”

As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download.
