According to the latest issue (May 2011) of the Official Xbox Magazine, a completely new installment in the Resident Evil series is on the way to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As previously rumored, the title is being developed by previous SOCOM developer Slant Six. The early reveal of
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was given by the web site
StickSkills.
The game, due next Winter, puts players in the shoes of members of the Umbrella Corporation as they struggle to contain the outbreak during the time between the second and third titles in the series. The game will be a squad based shooter where you will earn experience points which you can use to level up the abilities of your team members. If you have any knowledge of the Resident Evil story, you know that Umbrella’s intentions are never straight forward... and that is exactly how this game will play out. Your missions won’t just be about damage control, there are ulterior motives...
More details and the first screns will be included in the May issue of the Official Xbox Magazine and hopefully plenty more will come to light with Capcom’s Captivate kicking off in just a matter of weeks...
