Sucker Punch has announced that inFAMOUS 2 will allow players to create their own missions and share them with the world. Users will have access to all of the same characters, creatures, and props that Sucker Punch used to create the actual game. According to the post on the Official PlayStation Blog, the possibilities are endless.
Missions that are created by players show up in the game as if they were standard missions in the game when playing in the new mode. When you come across a starting point for a mission, the listed mission will include the PSN tag of the creator, telling you that it is player created. Missions will also include information regarding user ratings and feedback from other players. Those missions that attract the attention of Sucker Punch (in a good way) will be promoted to a featured mission list which will show up in everyone’s game.
The make things even more exciting, Sucker Punch is launching a beta for the user generated content portion of the game later this month. The exact details regarding the beta along with sign ups will launch on the official inFAMOUS website on March 14, 2011.If you want to see just what the new mode is capable of, check out the video below.
