Ok, can I officially state that I am actually excited for this game?!?! THQ’s WWE All Stars has released a new trailer this week and has succeeded in officially getting me on the bandwagon.
The new game, which I have talked about previously (including last week), Is a super-arcadey take on the world of wrestling. The game reminds me a lot of Midway’s WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game from the mid-1990’s. That comparison is probably because of the fact that many of the development team’s members are former Midway employees, now working as THQ San Diego. The new trailer, shown below, also reveals a few new faces for the game and confirms some of the ones that I mentioned in my last WWE All Star's related posting.
So far we have seen the following in the game (not including the previously announced preorder bonus characters of Ted DiBiase and Ted Jr.): Andre the Giant, Big Show, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Cody Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes, John Cena, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, Macho Man, Randy Savage, Rey Mysterio, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Rock (The), Sheamus, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H.
Personally, I am hoping to see a ton more classic wrestlers added to the mix including Hillbilly Jim, Junkyard Dog, Jake “the Snake” Roberts, and perhaps even Tito Santana or the Iron Sheik. You can also bank on seeing the likes of the Undertaker, Kane, and Edge included from the modern side of things as well.
