World of Tanks has reached 1,000,000 registered players. Apparently, the success that started out in Russia has since spread to Europe and the Americas. The key to success of any free-to-play game starts in attracting a large player base; mission successful, World of Tanks! Have some free screens on the house.

World of Tanks Hits Another Significant Milestone by Reaching 1,000,000 Users
London, UK — January 4, 2011 — Wargaming.net announced today that its highly anticipated free-to-play MMO action game World of Tanks has recorded more than one million registrations in America, Europe and Russia. This significant milestone has been reached in less than one year since launching the closed beta in Russia.
To handle the rush of players, World of Tanks team is installing additional European servers to the line-up. The steady growth of the World of Tanks’ population will enable Wargaming.net to continuously update and polish the game in the run-up to its commercialization for the Western audience in the first quarter of 2011.
