Rock Band DLC going the international singles route next week

I guess it was bound to happen at some point after all the mega-star DLC we have seen for the last several weeks. For next week, Rock Band DLC will consist of seven international songs and one Plastic Ono Band X-mas song. Color me not too impressed, but I am sure there are people that would love to download these bands and songs.

Pricing is the standard $0.99/80 MS Pts/100 Wii Pts for Pro Bass/Pro Guitar upgrade in addition to the $1.99/160 MS Pts/200 Wii Pts per song. Here is the list of songs, but don’t forget your English to foreign language translator:

VARIETY OF SONGS FROM ACROSS EUROPE, AS WELL AS “HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER)” COME TO ROCK BAND!

Cambridge, Mass. – Dec. 17, 2010 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that seven singles from top international acts, as well as the single, “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” will be available beginning Dec. 21 in the Rock Band 3 Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

Rock Band provides the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums through the Rock Band music platform, which features more than 800 artists and more than 2,000* tracks via disc and download purchase (complete list of tracks at www.rockband.com/songs). Rock Band’s gigantic music library dwarfs that of any other rhythm video game on the market. To date, more than 75 million songs have been sold through the Rock Band Music Store since its launch Nov. 20, 2007.

Next week, Rock Band is presenting a smattering of international hits from a variety of bands from across Europe. From France, Anaïs is bringing “Peut-Être une Angine;” from Germany, BAP is bringing “Verdamp Lang Her;” from Italy, Linea 77 is bringing “Fantasma,” along with others.

Additionally, just in time for Christmas, “Happy Xmas (War is Over),” from John Lennon, Yoko Ono and The Plastic Ono Band, will be available for Rock Band 3. The song, written by John and Yoko, was recorded with the help of Phil Spector and the Harlem Community Choir in 1971 in New York City.
As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download.
