The PlayStation 3 version of BioWare’s
Mass Effect 2 is more than just a port of the Xbox 360 version of the game. Jesse Houston of BioWare recently announced that the PS3 version of the game is actually built using the game engine that was constructed for Mass Effect 3.
The result is what many who have seen the game are calling the definitive version of Mass Effect 2. The game launches in just over a month and will bring the now-classic franchise to a whole new audience, bringing with it an original interactive comic that is meant to fill the void of the first game. The original game cannot and will not (in the foreseeable future) be released on the PlayStation 3 as Microsoft has exclusive rights to its publishing. Houston also reaffirmed that the third game will launch across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC simultaneously.
