People Can Fly and Epic Games have revealed the multiplayer aspects of the upcoming Bulletstorm which hits both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in February. Unlike most other first persont shooters, players won’t be going online to take one another out directly in Bulletstorm; in this game, its all about the competition and killing the computer with style.
There are two “multiplayer” modes in Bulletstorm: Anarchy and Echo. Anarchy is Bulletstorm’s take on Gears of War 2‘s Horde mode, with up to 4 players facing off against waves of enemies who increase in both difficulty and number over time. Within this mode, play eliminating the enemies in specific manners, dictated by the game. Players will be required to hit set, scoring benchmarks in order to proceed in this mode, so it isn’t just about survival... it’s survival sith style.
The Echo mode is simply a mode which allows players to play any level of the game without the drive of the story, with the purpose of setting the highest score possible on a worldwide leaderboard.
The Official PlayStation Blog ran a video interview with Epic Games’ Cliffy B last week which details some background information on the game and sheds some light on the multiplayer modes included. You can watch the interview below:
