Sega has announced that it will release the video game adaption of Marvel’s Thor on May 3, 2011, entitled Thor: God of Thunder. The game will launch alongside the major motion picture based on the same character, but according to Sega, will follow a different plot.
The video game version of Thor is set solely in Asguard and was shown in trailer form at this weekend’s Spike TV VGA’s. From the looks of the trailer below, the game will be an action game in the same vain as God of War 3 and Darksiders, and I don’t think that is a bad thing. Hopefully Sega and do a lot better with this franchise than it has done with the Iron Man series thus far (and those games just had so much promise).
