There is plenty of news to be had in the world of EA’s
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit this weekend... and unfortunately it comes in both good and bad flavors.
Let’s talk about the good first: three new convertables coming to the game thanks to the efforts of gamers worldwide. Remember that little video challenge that we posted about a little while back? Well, it never really hit the goal of 1 million views, but EA is going to release the pack anyways to thank you for your valiant effort. The cars will be added “soon” with a title update for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game... which leads us to the bad news...
Criterion has confirmed on the game’s
official message boards that the PC version of the game will not be receiving any the announced downloadable content that is hitting the 360 and PS3... none... nada... zip... zilch... zero. According to the official statement:
“We have a limited amount of resources that makes it so that we are unable to deliver new content to all platforms, however we do have more updates and content on the way for PC players.”
Their statement could be taken a couple of ways; the game will likely receive future patches and title updates but not additional content is the most likely interpretation though. This is a sad decision though that will hopefully be changed given enough outcry from the user base...
