When Sega announced the new
Captain America: Super Soldier game a little while back, they neglected to mention that the Nintendo Wii version of the game would be its own stand-alone title. The Wii game will not be a port of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game currently in development.
The Nintendo Wii version of Captain America: Super Soldier is being developed by High Voltage to take advantage of everything that the Wii has to offer in gameplay opportunities. Instead of the more realistic, rendered graphics of its HD counterpart, the Wii version of the game will utilize an over the top, cartoony look and focus on the use of the Wiimote for the basis of its gameplay. The storyline will be similar to the other games and movie in that it will be set during World War II and focus on Captain’s mission of infiltrating Hydra Castle. This version will require players to use the Wiimote to target enemies and launch projectiles (namely the Shield) as well as utilize the shield to block and reflect enemy attacks back at them. The game will also feature a time slowing mechanic to allow players to manage the onslaught of enemy attacks.
The Ninteno Wii version of Captain America: Super Soldier is expected top launch alongside the movie and the other games in early 2011.
