NBA Elite 11 not taking its talents anywhere

It looks like EA won't be releasing a basketball simulation this year as Kotaku is reporting the cancellation of NBA Elite 11. The cancellation was confirmed by EA's CFO during an investor call.

I can't remember the last time EA didn't come out with an NBA game that wasn't in the Live or Elite series. They do have NBA Jam and 2K's NBA game has been better as of late. I can't say I'm disappointed since I'm not following the NBA this year but I'm glad EA canceled the game rather than put out a half-baked product. They can use the extra year to try and develop a worthy NBA game.
