Last night, my
ZigZag Gaming Storage Tower arrived from
LevelUp Gear. We've been cleaning the house to get ready for holiday decorating later this month and the area around the TV is key to this process. Getting a chance to test this out, and make it a part of the pre-holiday cleaning process is a win-win for me.
The only thing I've done so far is to assemble it, and let me say it was a snap. I mean that literally because there are no tools required for assembly and the pieces all snap into place. There are a couple of decorative rubber band looking green things that act as accents at the top and bottom of the case that you have to get to fit just so. Otherwise the only complexity is manually turning a couple of bolts in attach the included Rock Band guitar holder.
It will be interesting to see how this thing works out. I hadn't really put it together at the time I learned I'd be reviewing the
ZigZag that the name was a reference to the form factor; The walls of the unit look like they're zig-zaging up the unit. In fact, the instructions specifcally say not to put the Xbox on the second level shelf. I recognize that there is ventilation in the floor of the bottom shelf, but I'm guessing it's also to prevent the tower from tipping. The unit seems very solid and stable, but I'll make sure to test its load bearing capacity with system and games during my review this week.
