Dungeons getting a closed beta

Old PC gamers will remember a unique title from Bullfrog (which is a bit redundant as every game Bullfrog made was fairly unique) called Dungeon Keeper.  The game had you playing the owner of a dungeon and it was your job to imprison and torture brave adventurers who went in looking for fame and fortune. 

The folks at Kalypso are working on a new game called Dungeons which has some of the same premise.  You start off as a mighty Dungeon Lord but due to the schemes of an evil ex-girlfriend (also redundant) you are knocked down a few steps and have to work your way back up the Dungeon Lord corporate ladder by crafting insidious dungeons and luring the local heroes to their doom in them.

If that sounds like your idea of a swell game you might want to saunter over to the Dungeons website as they are taking applications for the closed beta of the game.  It might be worth it as the game has looked fairly good so far.

DUNGEONS follows the mis-adventures of the foremost of all Dungeon Lords, who spends his time luring heroes into his labyrinthine creations with the promise of treasure and a good fight -- only to be trapped by his ingenious devices.

In DUNGEONS, our protagonist falls victim to a devious plot hatched by his vile, nasty and thoroughly vicious ex-girlfriend and finds himself at the bottom of the underworld hierarchy and the top of the dungeon pile.
