THQ has announced a release date for its
uDraw peripheral and compatable software for the Ninteno Wii. The
uDraw, a drawing / tablet device for the Wii, will be available on November 14, 2010 for $69.99. The package will include the tablet device and
uDraw Studio software (a coloring and drawing based game). There will be two other
uDraw compatable titles made available on that day as well, Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure. Both titles will sell for $29.99.
I think that the Pictionary title is an absolutely perfect fit for this type of device. Considering that the Wii is already positioned as sort of a “party game” console, best enjoyed by groups of people, a classic game such as Pictionary could go a long way in extending the draw (pun intended) of the console and this peripheral to even more “non-gamers”. That aside, it will be interesting to see if other titles such as the Drawn to Life series, take advantage of the
uDraw and take their concept(s) to a whole new level.
