If you're an animation buff like Warren Spector then you probably know about Walt Disney's very first cartoon character, Oswald the lucky rabbit. For the first time since the 1920s Oswald is getting a starring role in Disney's Epic Mickey, a story of redemption for the spiritual older brother that Mickey basically upstaged for the better part of a century. I've been pretty skeptical about Epic Mickey so far, and while I'd still rather have Spector working his cyberpunk magic on something like Tron, I'm definitely warming up to the central theme of Epic Mickey. I was afraid it would be just another soulless mascot marketing orgy like Kingdom Hearts, but it looks like Spector is making sure the game has a real heart.
