Console games these days have the luxury of patching post release, unlike the old days. It's almost PC like in the fact that games will be shipped with some glaring bugs in the interest of patching it later on down the road. Well, what if you're not connected to the Internet? I know. What is this? 1992?
The folks at
Media Molecule told VG247 that the reason they are delaying
LittleBigPlanet2 is just for that reason. You can blame those that don't connect their PS3 to the Internet as they want to make the game as perfect as possible on the get go so that those that don't patch or update it post release will get a solid experience.
Now, not many companies would take this approach and I think companies take being able to patch the game post release for the console owners for granted. So, even though we're going to have to wait a bit more for
LBP2 because of the non-connected folks, the game's going to be worth the wait for the extra time to polish it up. Just as long as it's not too long.
