The WWE license is a big part of THQ’s portfolio; the annual WWE games are always amongst the top sellers in the industry and THQ is expanding their offerings with some new titles in the next year. In order to help ramp up the promotional aspect of the THQ / WWE products, THQ has launched a
WWE themed portal on their web site.
The WWE Hub site, as well as the
official Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 Community page will serve as the official news site for news and updates regarding THQ’s WWE games as well as an exclusive blog helmed by the WWE’s own the Miz (because he’s awesome). To go along with the announcement of the sites, THQ is also releasing a slew of WWE themed Avatar items onto the Xbox Live marketplace, including the following:
-
John Cena – Outfits (Male and Female), Cap
-
Undertaker – Outfits (Male and Female), Hat
-
DX – Outfits (Male and Female), Glowsticks, Cap
-
Edge – Outfits (Male and Female)
-
Randy Orton – Shirts (Male and Female)
-
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 – Shirts (Male and Female)
-
Hornswoggle – Animated WWE Superstar
-
Rey Mysterio – Mask
-
WWE Championship Belt
I have to be honest, I wouldn’t hesitate to get both a title belt for my Avatar and Hornswoggle if he interacts with your Avatar like on of the pets. The next WWE game on THQ’s release list is
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 which will hit every system imaginable on October 26, 2010.
