As someone who plays beer league hockey it's interesting to see the hockey stick controller that EA is providing for
NHL Slapshot. It's an interesting concept and well suited for the Wii's core audience but I do wonder how well it's really going to work for people who have actually played the sport at some level. Here's a short producer video that shows off the controller and some of the new modes in the game (including PeeWee to Pro which should illustrate who EA is targeting for the game).
