Happy (belated) Birthday Sonic!

Did you know that yesterday, June 24, was Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday? It was, and the little blue guy has officially been apart of gamers’ lives for 19 years now. Sega surely isn’t going to let such a milestone go by without a celebration.

In order to mark the occasion, Sega has marked down many of the games available in the digital distribution market for a limited time. PlayStation Network users have a bit longer to cash in on their deal(s) as Sonic Rivals 1 and 2 are available for a bundle price of $17.99 until July 6, 2010. If you don’t want both games you can opt to purchase them individually as part 1 is $10.99 and the sequel is $13.99. The PSN is also offering the DLC for various Sonic related games at a discount during the event. iPhone and iPod users can cash in on the event through June 30, 2010. Until that date, all Genesis games and the Super Monkey Ball titles will be receiving markdowns on the App store.

Unfortunately, the Xbox Love Marketplace deals were only good on June 24, 2010. Sorry that I didn’t get this news out sooner. :(
