One of Atlus’ surprise titles of last week’s E3 conference was the sequel to the classic PC indie game (and PSN) Trine. Trine 2 was announced and shown off in trailer form at the conference (shown below) from Frozenbyte and Atlus
The new game will carry on the same theme and physics based gameplay from the original, focusing on the use of three distinct characters individual abilities to progress through a 2D side-scrolling world. Trine 2 will take the cooperatively gameplay to a new level for the series by adding up to 3-player online, cooperative play.
Trine 2 is being targeted for a Spring 2011 release. You can check out some of the early screenshots and the announcement trailer below.
