Grease is the word... and now it's the game.
Oh, brother.
There are times when I feel like we have seen the bottom of the barrel when it comes to game ideas. I mean, how hard is it to own real hamsters that you need a game like Petz: Hamsterz, let alone Petz: Hamsterz 2.
But as seems to happen on a regular basis, I am proven wrong. Today, we got word that someone (505 Games) is making Grease: The Game. Didn't these folks see the movie Grease 2? I understand someone maybe making a slot machine out of this title, but 55 year old women don't seem like a target market, even for the Wii. I'm not sure who they're targeting for the DS and DSi, but there must be some niche market they feel they can make money off of.
I'm going to do my best to reserve judgement. I like music games, and this movie is full of classic songs., I just can't see how this will work. Who knows, maybe they'll be a mini-game where you get to make fun of Frankie Vali for wearing such tight pants. That'd certainly be worth the purchase price alone.
