Total Rock, Total Rewards local competitions starts tonight

Last week we ran a contest to give away copies of Green Day: Rock Band.  Well tonight, you can get involved with the event that spawned our giveaway.  The Total Rock, Total Rewards competition heats up tonight at the local bars across the country.  GamingNexus HQ is even represented with the competition over at Outland on Liberty in Downtown C-Bus.  Check out the list below, and the venue that has the most contestants will get a chance to meet the folks at Harmonix.  Check out all the details after the jump:

Tonight the headlining act could be your neighbor, your co-worker, even your best bud. That’s right, at some 20 venues across the US, would-be rock stars will have the chance to have top billing at their own favorite watering holes. Harrah’s Entertainment and MTV Games have teamed up to bring the nation’s biggest Rock Band gaming competition...a battle of the bands like no one has seen before. Some 20 Rock Band bands from around the US and Canada will have a chance to compete at the BIG EVENT in Atlantic City July 4th weekend. The winning band takes home $10K and gets to meet Ringo Starr. But for now, it’s all about getting to the next level as bands compete for the highest score at the following locations:

Additionally, the venue with the most competitors will have a chance to meet Harmonix, the guys behind the most rockin’ video game. They’ll even bring along the sweetest swag – the new Green Day: Rock Band out in June.
