Def Jam Rapstar, the hip-hop centered music video game from 4mm Games that
Chuck had his eye on, will be incorporating a localization factor into development. That means that European countries will be featuring exclusive local artists in their respective countries.
The UK edition, for instance, will include a track from Dizzee Rascal while France will be featuring the likes of Sefyu. I'm personally more a fan of Dizzee's, but the UK will also have a track from Tinie Tempah, France adds NTM featuring Lord Ko, and Germany will have a track each from artists Sido and Kool Savas.
Being that music genres - wherever its origin may be - generally adapts to its local residence, I think the idea of localization is appropriate. Kevin Liles, President and CEO of Def Jam Enterprises, seems to agree with me, "Each territory is creating their own movement, style, artists, and songs that resonate with the hip hop experience in their respective country. Hip hop is global, therefore Def Jam Rapstar must also be global, and provide local content providers the opportunity to represent hip hop in their own language in their own voice."
Read on for the tracks featured from each artist.
