Over the past few years
EA has continued to improve their
NHL franchise. While there is always room for improvement; without monumental change eventually the game will reach a natural peak and plateau. As I pointed out in my
review of this years edition, the most natural place would be to add content that gets you to the NHL draft. Spending time in the AHL is all well and good when attempting to develop for the big league, but how you get to be good enough to be in the NHL draft is what is missing from the game.
Being that
EA has generally been ahead of the curve with the
NHL titles, it should come as no surprise that there's a rumor going around that the Canadian Major Junior leagues will appear in
NHL 2012. If so, this could really put the crown jewel on the perenial Sports Game of the Year winner.
