Gamepro had a chance to sit down with Motohide Eshiro, producer on
Okamiden and talk about the game's design in this interview. Eshiro wanted to give the celestial brush a more tactile feel than it had on the PS2 or Wii, so in Okamiden you have to draw slowly to get a nice heavy and powerful line, while quick tracing will result in faint lines.
He also says that while the dev team is mostly new people and not the ex-Clover developers who made the original game, the entire Okamiden team are huge fans of Okami and want to make a worthy sequel. So far the game looks great, and in many cases fans do better justice to a property than anyone else, so I have a lot of faith that Okamiden will turn out well.
