Conduit 2 Producer Josh Olson has been busy answering questions about his game. Roboawesome
interviewed him recently and while they asked a lot of the same questions we've seen before, there are still a few tidbits of new info. Apparently Michael Ford will be using none other than the lost city of Atlantis as a hub world between levels. He'll be able to access different locations around the globe from conduits installed in the underwater city, along with upgrades and weapons lockers. Olson says that he regrets they didn't do Washington DC justice in the first game and he wants the sequel to have a bigger, more expansive and flexible feel. Conduit 2 has Ford traveling all over the world, and it definitely won't be a series of claustrophobic rooms and corridors anymore.
Overall it sounds like HVS is doing what I predicted--the first game was for laying down the engine, controls and online infrastructure, and now that they have all that solid they're going hog wild with the framework and really growing it into something much bigger. The HVS people seem very ambitious and I'm glad they have the chance to implement everything they wanted but didn't necessarily have time for in the first game.
